Why children should meditate and how does this benefit them

A challenging world for our children

Our children are born in a world, which is challenging them in many ways; the kids themselves are a product of the evolution of this universe and they have an inherent drive to stand up against this world with all its challenges, unexpectedness, partiality, and contradictions. Their environment provides not only challenges, but burdens as well; kids are living in a non-perfect world that can hinder their effective development or seriously limit it.

Therefore, it is a big challenge for the children to keep the balance, to live in security and universal integration. Unfortunately, our society largely overlooks the crucial knowledge about how children can be supported in general. We underestimate the fact that our children, like all of us, are a representation of the basic level of being, that has the potential to provide all the tools needed for maintaining harmony and well-being in all aspects of life. At the same time, this basic level is the bearer of the entire universe knowledge in embryo form. Therefore, learning is primarily a self-remembering about all-encompassing nature of the cosmos, including all detailed aspects of school knowledge too.

The basis for a healthy, happy and successful attitude towards life is the ability to consciously experience the connection to this level. The perfect basic strategy for living will be accomplished by an efficient tool for deep relaxation that provides, in addition to sleeping, a possibility for relieving existing burdens. If a meditation can fulfill these two requirements and remains at the same time natural and easy to practice, then the children have to grab this chance.

The Transcendental Meditation: An example, serving as a model for years

Transcendental meditation (TM) meets these requirements in an ideal way. Its effects are worldwide proved for decades. Here is a list of only a few of them, which are essential and correspond especially to young people:

Transcendental Meditation and how it works

That makes it ideally appropriate for the young mind of children and adolescents, and as the experience shows, they are practicing it with pleasure. For this reason, there is a fast-growing spread of TM in private and public schools.

This specific mental technique provides the body with profound relaxation, that can be, according to the metabolism, up to twice as big as in deep sleep. Rest enables efficient recovery, reducing naturally and finally relieving tensions and blockades. The system-inherent evolution and regeneration processes would be strengthened and an enormous development potential will be released. The mind-body coordination increases. Children, teenagers and adults, of course, are developing their own broad-based personality. Learning and comprehension happen of their own accord, and motivation comes spontaneously from within. The Result is a mental, physical, and psychological health and stability.

Therefore, Transcendental Meditation is used for years in private and public schools worldwide (mostly in the USA and South America).

Training

The learning of the TM technique lasts for four consecutive days, 1.5 hours per day. Afterwards, it can be exercised immediately, alone and independently as DIY-technique. Check-up meetings during the first months stabilize the regular exercise. Kids from 10 years on are already practicing the technique like adults twice a day for 10-15 minutes each. Kids from 4 years on can start by learning the easiest TM child‘s technique, where sitting still is not a requirement. There are individual customizable options for schools and learning institutions to implement this stress reducing and awareness developing technique.
